Gotta have it! Got a habit: Habib Persian Cuisine – Greenfield District, Mandaluyong

It’s been long since my taste buds crave for something new.

The Portal in Greenfield District, Mandaluyong City is a new cluster of bars and restaurants that include Bed Manila, Starbucks, Pancake House and Teriyaki Boy (and DQ soon, yey!) in its roster.  This truly makes this place formerly known as EDSA Central as a budding go-to place.

The newest addition is Habib Persian Cuisine.  They had their soft launch on December 3.  And the following day, we were pulled in via an invisible food magnet to this restaurant.

It looks so fresh and posh.  The interior design was tastefully done.  They also offer shisha.  See photos in their Facebook account.

As in traditional Persian cuisine, they serve long-grained Basmati rice along with the meals.

Chelo Khoresh Gayme (P 195) is beef stew with yellow beans. It's a mouthful of flavor!

We capped off the meal with the signature Middle Eastern dessert: the Baklava

  1. It’s always a great mystery to me why “Persian” restaurants always attempt to incorporate Mediterranean cuisine or even sometimes claim to be Mediterranean restaurants. Persia (Iran) is quite far removed geographically and culturally from the various countries surrounding the Mediterranean sea.
