1st Colonial Grill: Chili Ice Cream!

Hot and cold in split second!

In our trip to Legazpi City, Albay, we went out looking for a cold desert.  One Bicolana suggested we try out the chili ice cream in 1st Colonial Grill.  We headed out to Pacific Mall and decided to try on that chili ice cream we’ve been hearing about.

On the bowl above, the pink one is the chili ice cream.  It burned my tongue!  Then it was sweet.  And then I think my tongue got numb.

But that’s OK.  I tried to assuage the confusing taste by tasting the next scoop.  It was a  pili nut-flavored.  It tasted like vanilla ice cream  but with little sprinkle of crisps off a pili nut.

The next one was tinutong-flavored.  Tinutong is roasted — almost burnt —  rice.  It’s a novelty on the mouth.

When you take out the ice creams, they unceremoniously put them in these cups.
